Cozy Living

Cozy Living

Not everything that makes life feel meaningful fits neatly into a category.

Some of the best parts of everyday life are the small things — a favorite album playing while you make dinner, a quiet morning with coffee and a journal, the way a season changes the mood of your home.

This part of the blog is where I write about those moments.

Living a Slower, Cozier Life

Cozy living, for me, isn’t about aesthetics or perfectly curated spaces. It’s about building small rhythms into everyday life that make things feel a little calmer, a little more intentional, and a little more joyful.

Sometimes that looks like:

  • a quiet morning with coffee and a book

  • journaling at the end of the day

  • putting on music while working on a creative project

  • noticing the small seasonal shifts happening outside

These little habits don’t change everything, but they do make everyday life feel richer.

Music as Part of the Rhythm

Music has always been one of the things that shapes my days.

Sometimes it’s background music while I’m reading or working on creative projects. Other times it’s a full listening session where I sit down and really pay attention to an album from start to finish.

One of the projects I’m currently working through is the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die list. It’s a fun way to discover music I might never have listened to otherwise and explore different genres, eras, and artists.

Music often becomes the soundtrack to everything else happening here — reading, journaling, creating, or simply winding down at the end of the day.

Seasonal Living

Another thing I’ve grown to appreciate more over time is paying attention to the seasons.

Instead of rushing through the year, I like noticing the little changes that come with each season — the feeling of longer days, the shift in mood that autumn brings, the quiet energy of winter, or the sense of renewal in spring.

Sometimes that shows up as:

  • seasonal reflections

  • journaling prompts

  • small rituals that mark the turning of the seasons

  • creating a home atmosphere that matches the time of year

Nothing elaborate — just small ways of staying connected to the rhythm of the year.

Making Space for Reflection

Cozy living also means making time to pause and reflect.

That might be through journaling, thinking about books or music that resonated, or simply slowing down long enough to notice what’s happening in life.

These moments of reflection are often where the most interesting thoughts and ideas start to form.
