F A L L | Dollar Tree floral arrangement DIY

Wednesday, September 6, 2017

If you haven't noticed yet... I love the Dollar Tree. I love finding random things to turn into something beautiful. I'm not the most creative, but sometimes I put something together and really surprise myself! Maybe it's the upcoming fall that is inspiring me. I made this beautiful floral arrangement last week and I knew I had to deconstruct it and share it with you as a DIY.

Disclosure: These flowers weren't purchased this year. I'm not sure if they have similar flowers this year, but I purchased these last fall.

Supplies-
  • fall flowers & foliage
  • popcorn kernels
  • a vase
  • floral foam

This vase I made last year sometime out of a glass taper holder and a glass vase/candle holder from the Dollar Tree. I attached the taper holder to the vase/candle holder with E-6000 glue. Attaching different pieces together from the Dollar Tree is one of my favorite things to do [check out my glam bathroom DIY post].

Cut your floral foam down with scissors or a knife. I just used a steak knife. Then arrange your flowers and foliage how you like.

Place your floral foam and flowers into the vase. You can absolutely add the foam first then arrange your flowers. I found it easier to take them in and out while initially arranging them if they weren't in the vase. Once you have them in the vase you can make any changes. I ended up adding the taller sprigs because I felt like it needed more height.

Add your popcorn kernels to the vase and spread around the foam. Make sure all the foam is covered by the popcorn kernels.

And that's it! You've just spent like 5 minutes and less than $10 on a beautiful fall themed floral arrangement.

Pro Tip- Grab some Dollar Tree flowers to mix in with your higher quality flowers. This keeps the cost low and the Dollar Tree flowers make great filler so you don't have to purchase as much of the higher quality flowers.

I would love for you to share your Fall DIYs with me! Be sure to tag me on social media so I can see what you make!
