This week I was inspired by Microscope Beauty on YouTube and her use of the sticker books from Michael's.  I don't usually use a lot of decorative stickers, but I came across a stack of these sticker books on clearance to 60 cents.  I grabbed one of each set ahah.

I chose the Animals on Bikes sticker book to use this week because I really liked the light colors in it.  I'm not sure that I enjoyed this style of decorating though.  My pages felt messy for me all week.  I wanted to try something different so my pages don't get too repetitive.  I'm not feeling it though.

Let me know what you think.  Did you like this week's style with the sticker book pages?  Do you also use the sticker books from Michael's?  What's your favorite embellishments for your pages?

adorn your android: july 2015 [instagram worthy photos tutorial]

Friday, July 24, 2015

This month's Adorn Your Android will feature a tutorial on how to get the perfect Instagram worthy photos right from your phone!

I'm currently using this beautiful wallpaper created by Limelife Planners.  I love how they offer free wallpaper designs to match the planners.  This specific one matches the covers I currently have on my planner right now!  You can get this wallpaper for free here.

All icons are from the cocoPPa app which can be downloaded in the Google Play Store.  Speaking of apps, today we're going to be using the photo editing app "Afterlight".  It's also a free download in the Google Play Store.

DESCRIPTION:  Afterlight is the perfect image editing app for quick and straight forward editing. Our simple design, paired with powerful and snappy tools, will give you the look you want in seconds.
15 ADJUSTMENT TOOLSUse any of our 15 uniquely made adjustment tools to enhance your images to perfection with ease.59 FILTERSAfterlight has 27 fully adjustable Original Filters, 14 Guest Filters by various Instagram users, and the new Seasons filter pack including 18 filters.66 TEXTURESAfterlight includes a range of real and natural light leaks we created with 35mm film and instant film, to simplistic scratchy film textures.CROPPING & TRANSFORMING TOOLSCrop your photos with our quick and easy cropping tool with 15 different presets.Transform your photos with our rotating tool, vertical and horizontal flipping tools, and straightening.FRAMESWe provide a list of 77 different simplistic and adjustable frames, paired perfectly with Instagram. Now including the new Wallpaper Pack.

Choose your photo that you will be editing.  Once you do this you'll have the options at the bottom of the screen.

First we're going to be focusing on this levels menu.  In here you can adjust the contrast, saturation, and brightness.

Bring your Saturation up to about 50%.  You'll want to do this before we brighten the photo, so we don't lose the colors and vividness.

Same goes for Contrast.  Up 50%!

Now I'm going to jack that Brightness ALL THE WAY!  We want a bright clear photo.  If you hadn't upped the Contrast and Saturation, this photo would have been completely washed out.

Now we're going to click on the color wheel to bring up a new menu.  I like "Relic" and "Rain".  They adjust the blues & greens in the photo.

You can eyeball how much you need to increase this.  I usually keep it around 25%.  You don't want to go overboard with this.  Just increase it a little to enhance the colors.

Here we are with "Rain".  Same thing, about 25% is all that is needed.

Finally you'll want to crop it to a square for Instagram!  Done!

I hope you enjoyed this month's Adorn Your Android!  What is your favorite photo editing app for your phone?

This week I stepped outside the box a little.  I utilized a scrapbook paper pad from Heidi Swapp to cut out a fan image.  I just went with a happy summer day theme.  I also introduced my new "Color Set" paper clips that are in my etsy shop.  The sky blue set was actually the inspiration for this week's spread.

kate spade inspired wallpaper 2.0

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

Back when I posted my original Kate Spade inspired wallpaper, I created several different variations.  Today I'm giving you more of them!  To be honest, I meant to release them earlier but totally forgot about them until I ran across them this week.  I got excited and immediately wrote a post for them.

You can view the original post here.  Like last time all you'll need to do is right click, and choose save image as.  If on you're phone you'll press && hold on the picture until it gives you the option to download.

These colors are a little more summer friendly than the black, gold, and white of my last set of wallpapers.  Hope you enjoy!!!!
